Val d’Isère is a French town and ski resort in the department of Savoie and the region of Rhône-Alpes. It is located in Haute-Tarentaise, in the Massif de la Vanoise, at an altitude of 1850m. The town is connected to the rest of France by a single road the RN902. The road links Val d’Isère with Bourg St Maurice and Bonneval-sur-Arc via the Col d’Iseran.
The town of Val d’Isère is divided into several hamlets, providing an undeniable charm to the station. The first hamlet you arrive at is La Daille, comprising of a large set of 1970s buildings built around an old village. On the way to Val d’Isère you pass through Le Cret and then you enter the old village itself, easily recognisable by its church. Then to the south lie the hamlets of Le Joseray, La Legettaz and then Le Chatelard in the valley of the Manchet. To the east lie the hamlets of Le Laisinant and then Le Fornet.
